The FoodWell is a first-of-its-kind venue in Manchester. A unique wellbeing concept bringing some mind, body & soul to city living, Steeleson Fabrications are delighted to have been able to supply & install some of the main design features & elements for the look of this exciting new venue.

The focal point of the restaurant is the “well” which is in fitting with the company’s brand name. This eye-catching feature, which is suspended from the ceiling, is almost 4 metres high & 1200mm in diameter. Produced from an internal steel skeleton, wrapped in a diamond mesh pattern & finished in bright copper, making it an extremely striking presence in the venue.

Another visual & practical addition in the layout was the inclusion of mesh wall panels, not only did they add to the artistic décor of the building but incorporated areas to house the numerous plant life that is visible throughout. Frames were created with integrated access doors & fitted with the diamond mesh panel screens & the copper finish to go with the signature look which is prominent throughout.

In any venue the bar tends to be a popular area long into the night & the main bar in the Foodwell certainly enables that. This enormous 10-metre-long structure along with the 6-metre deli area bar had to be constructed using heavy duty framework to support the solid terrazzo bar top.

In addition to some of the more visual features of the restaurant we also manufactured & installed internal steelwork to support the dividing wall to the yoga room & structural support for the 5-section glass partition, a mezzanine floor & steel staircase to create an upper level for office & storage areas, along with a variety of different sized feature screens & steel work to support seating areas throughout.
